Filecoin (FIL) has announced the launch of FIL-RetroPGF-2, a continuation of its initiative to fund public goods projects within the Filecoin ecosystem. Slated for Fall 2024, the new round aims to provide stronger funding, streamlined processes, and an improved user experience, according to Filecoin.

Celebrating Our Funders

The inaugural round of FIL-RetroPGF saw significant contributions from funders such as Titan Network, web3mine/Ramo, Filecoin Foundation, and Protocol Labs. These contributions enabled the distribution of nearly $1 million USD to 95 diverse projects, significantly impacting the Filecoin ecosystem.

For the upcoming FIL-RetroPGF-2, Filecoin is inviting more donors to join the initiative. By becoming a funder, individuals and organizations can influence the direction of the Filecoin ecosystem and support the growth of public goods projects. Interested parties can explore sponsorship packages and get involved by contacting ops@fil-retropgf.io.

Round 2: Stronger, Faster, Better

The second round promises to be more robust, efficient, and user-friendly. Notable improvements include:

  • Stronger: Increased funding for eligible projects, ensuring broader ecosystem support.
  • Faster: Streamlined application processes, badgeholder voting, and distribution timelines for greater efficiency.
  • Better: Enhanced user experience informed by feedback, improved communication via a dedicated Telegram channel, and seamless funding through Drips on FVM.

Filecoin encourages participants to review the insights from Round 1 to understand the upcoming changes better.

FIL-RetroPGF-2 will continue to support a wide array of categories, including:
