GitHub Models aims to democratize access to industry-leading large and small language models, such as Llama 3.1, GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, Phi 3, and Mistral Large 2. Users can test different prompts and model parameters in a built-in playground before integrating them into their development environment using Codespaces and Visual Studio Code (VS Code). Once ready for production, Azure AI offers robust security, data privacy, and global availability.

Interactive Model Playground

The interactive model playground on GitHub allows users to explore popular private and open models from companies like Meta, Mistral, Azure OpenAI Service, and Microsoft. This feature is designed to help students, hobbyists, and startups experiment, compare, test, and deploy AI applications seamlessly. GitHub ensures that no prompts or outputs will be shared with model providers or used to train or improve the models.

Testing and Comparing Models

Different AI models offer unique capabilities, performance, and costs. For instance, Mistral is known for low latency, while GPT-4o excels in building multimodal applications that require real-time processing of audio, vision, and text.
